Onera wins two Red Dot Awards 2021
Eindhoven – April 12, 2021 – Onera Health revealed today that their first product for the sleep diagnostics market, Onera Sleep Test System (STS), received two Red Dot Awards. The international jury has awarded Onera STS the distinction “Red Dot: Product Design 2021”, which stands for high design quality. Furthermore, the product won an award in the “Innovative Products” category, meaning that the jury members recognized the product’s novel features in particular.
Onera STS is a clinical-grade patch-based sleep test, which will, for the first time, provide extensive data from a remote sleep study. Thus, giving sleep physicians a holistic picture of the patient and allowing a comprehensive diagnosis, as well as follow-up sleep studies for patients undergoing treatment, from the convenience of the patient's home.
The medical device's compact wireless design is ergonomic, easy-to-apply, and focuses on the patient's comfort during testing. Currently awaiting the European and US market regulatory approvals, it will be available in its primary configuration, consisting of the chest and the head sensors, and it will feature additional sensors in its complete configuration.

The Red Dot Award: Product Design dates back as far as 1955 and recognizes the best products for a given year. The roughly 50 jurors were once again true to the motto “In search of good design and innovation” in the 2021 competition. The international panel of experts comprises specialists from a wide variety of sectors. They scrutinized the products entered in the competition in a process that spanned several days.

Onera in exhibitions, online and in the yearbook
Onera STS can be seen in the online exhibition on the Red Dot website from June 21, 2021. That date also marks the beginning of the Red Dot Design Week, during which this year’s award winners will be celebrated online.
From June 22, 2021, Onera STS will also be included in the exhibition “Design on Stage” in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen, Germany, where all of the award-winning products are showcased. Visitors to the museum can experience the quality of the designs in a space that features contemporary design solutions and historical industrial architecture. The Red Dot Design Yearbook 2021/2022 comes out in August. The publication provides an overview of the state of the art and trends in product design.
FDA and CE mark approval for Onera STS is currently pending and undergoing review.
